Great trip up to see the barrells.

See the main thread for pictures!

I will pay on behalf of NCB and we will sort out details on Tuesday

The barrels look great.  Should we start a list of those who are interested in chipping in for the cost and adding a brew to this, whatever it might be?  At 36 gallons, that's approx. 7 x 5 Gallon/20L brews and it probably needs topping up with another one, does it?

I can offer garage storage for this if necessary but location is not very convenient to the rest of you.

Ok, Our Barrel is bought and paid for. So lets start the list and our brew preferences (in order 1st 1st!):

1. Will_D:  Barley Wine, Imperial Stout

Just an update on this:

We are going up on Tuesday next to collect the barrels.

It will be stored cool and dark till needed for filling.

I am worried that we may not get enough of the speciality malts so we need to get a recipe sorted, and get the specials ordered.

After all there may well be 64 people trying to order a kilo of Brown, or 0.5 kgs of roasted barley!!

Here is an article I found.

Nothing too enlightening, but might it be an idea to store the barrell on a couple of pallets?
I reckon I could get a couple of small or even euro pallets from work.  It might help with siphoning out, fitting chocks/stillage to.
