He doesn't run the micro, he assists. He can perform a complete brew from beginning to end, as in getting it as far as the fermenter. Afaik, he doesn't get involved with kegging or bottling.

The point I'm trying to make is that brewing with a Speidel is incredibly simple (once you have your recipe and supply chain in place). So nothing can really go wrong, and you can brew consistent beers every time.

I have been waiting over a week now for the missing items from my order 55508/120216/97 to be delivered to me, to say i am peed off is an understatement at this stage as no reply to my last 2 emails, please sort it out

Better to contact the vendor directly by phone and use the forum as your last resort as all vendors infrequently visit forum.

Have to agree, you sent two emails so that is good, they should have replied but you know with HBS here there are so few of them they can't keep up and internet communication is not a priority. I agree with CH about calling them on the phone,it is the only way i have found to get things sorted. ;D

Email arrived at 5PM on 16th; we responded at 3 PM on 17th and shipped missing bits on 17th too.

I'm not sure what more we could have done.

Most problems like this are due to mail box settings . . . its because we send out over 14,000 emails every month.

Please white list us in your email system to get emails from us.

Ah, they shipped the wrong bits so you sent another email at 11.20 AM on Friday 19th, and we responded to that on the same day at 18.40, and shipped the correct items on Monday (earliest possible shipment date).

Apologies for shipping the wrong item, but my staff really couldn't have tried any harder to resolve it.

I think the only reasonable explanation is that you are not receiving our emails, so again . . . please white list us.

unfortunately the missing taps from my original order were replaced by rubber bungs which i received in the post on Monday 19th and I informed Bianca immediately and she replied that evening and apologised and said she would send the taps out and to date I have not received them, even though i emailed twice since that asking about them and got no reply to either email so as of yet the order i placed on 12th feb has not been completed

Taps were shipped last Monday, Bianca will try to track them with DPD and get back to you.

But it won't really help unless you are receiving our emails . . . check your settings and whitelist us.

Have you checked your email "spam" folder ? ;D

yes i have checked my spam folder ,  if i had received the items then i would not have to check my emails or my spam folder etc

you are on my whitelist, i do receive your emails and have done so  the previous orders and previous emails regarding this issue

I receive parcels from DPD 2 to 3 times per week and I have the mobile number of my local driver John
DPD also text me in the morning of any delivery day with  delivery time, they have not texted me in the last week with any order from Homebrewwest as they normally do and have done with all your orders before including the orders before where you also omitted items and had to send on at a later date

Great stuff. The first delivery got as far as the DPD hub in Athlone over a week ago and then disappeared.

Its a major problem that there is no way for us to find out there was a problem until a customer eventually contacts us. We've been trying to find a solution for this for years. Its one thing if they can't deliver because a customer isn't home, but when the courier loses a package it would be great if we were informed so that we could try to sort something our for the customer. To be fair to DPD, I think its pretty much the same for every other courier.

Many thanks to all of you who have supported us over the years and allowed us to quickly become the biggest and most successful homebrewing company in Ireland. We've just bought our own massive shop / warehouse in Galway city and finally completed the move today. Map and directions on the website. To those of you who suffered the chaos of our old shop . . . we can't thank you enough. The new shop will be a completely different experience. Since we own it, we can do all sorts of amazing things. Basics include vertical chillers for retail display of hops, yeasts etc (we store non display at 5 oC). Its gonna be soooo fun . . . a massive retail display area, one of the biggest in Europe. You will finally be able to browse and see nearly all of our 3500 products.

To celebrate the move, we are doing many wholesale specials throughout March for both retail customers and consumers. Here is a hint of things to come . . .

First up: the Australian Blends 7 day wine kits at new discounted prices until the end of March . . . now approx a Euro per bottle, by far the best wine kit prices ever seen in Ireland (UK prices are way higher). These kits really have taken Ireland by storm, and are by far the best sellers here. Customers rave about the Pinot Grigio and also the Chardonnay: amazing for 7 day kits. And the reds aren't bad either!

Second up: the Craft Range Bottle Trees. Don't confuse these with cheap drainers: this one screws together for extra strength and stability. Kinda important when you have 88 bottles hanging on it!

Third up: . . . well a whole range of stuff. During the move, we came across hundreds of products that were never put on the web site and thousands of items we somehow missed. These will all be going up on the site over the coming weeks at prices designed to move them on. It will be a new section . . . probably called something like "warehouse move" so keep an eye out.

Finally the move has been a bit disruptive for customers over the last couple of days, and some orders have been delayed. We are doing our very best to catch up and will be working all weekend. For those orders that don't ship in time for weekend brewing, we'd like to offer the small compensation of a 10 euro voucher (valid until end of the month).

So if you have ordered before 5 PM tomorrow (Thursday), and don't receive your order on Friday, we will email you a 10 euro voucher code.

Thanks again for all your support, we wouldn't be here without you guys.

Good service and best of luck with the move Brian, I've long advocated a shopping trolly type experience for walk ins to HB shops like they have in the US, as it allows us to see what you have and then of course we spend more!

Look forward to seeing the new store. Is the new Whitelabs order in store if I call over tomorrow?
