Hi,

Anyone know if Munster CO2 are still in business? Tried calling them a few times today but the call didn't connect.

Hefeman

LordEoin

i got gas from him a few weeks ago

Hefeman

Great, thanks LordEoin!
I actually took a spin out there today and although closed it did look like a place that was potentially still doing business :)
Does he sell canisters? If so is it the fire extinguisher type and is there anything I should avoid? I'll be dropping into him early next week.

I'm ready to fill my first keg, might carb naturally this time. Is it important to fill up the head space with CO2 or can I just fill and hook up the CO2 in a few weeks time?

LordEoin

he does sell canisters and he's fairly reasonable too. Make sure to tell him in advance that it's for home brewing and he'll modify it for you.
it didn't click with me earlier but I think he's only open mon-fri.

Regarding the headspace.. if you don't purge the headspace you'll have oxygen in there and when it builds pressure you'll be forcing that oxygen into solution.

aweisse

I got a cyclinder filled there last week, he be there in the mornings try at around 10am .

mr hoppy

LE's absolutely right about purging.

Incidentally it's no harm to ring ahead, especially if you are trying to get in on a Saturday morning.

Hefeman

Cheers guys I'll keep it in the FV until I get the gas.

Hefeman

Called up today, he doesn't have any cylinders at the moment. Anyone else know somewhere that might have one?
BTW The Munster O2 landline no longer works, he gave me a mobile no for future use, not sure if I should publish that here but PM me if you need it.

johnrm

I'd say your grand. I think I posted it before.
