Hi, I got my fire extinguisher yesterday, and put on the regulator on, when i squeezed the handle the dial with the amount of gas left in the tank did not budge even though the tank is full. I am able to get gas out my regulating how long I squeeze the handle for but I thought that I could be able to regulate the flow using the screw on the front of the regulator. I got it from Alex has anyone else got one of these and can they give me a few pointer as I want to force carb tomorrow. Also when the screw on the front is complete screwed is this the reg full open or full closed?
Thanks Lads

Pictures please?
Turning the thumbscrew bolt clockwise will increase pressure, have you unscrewed the locknut behind it first?
Take of your regulator and depress handle very gently not fully open handle do you get a blast of co2 I think you said that was working
If not handle not working. You need to leave the handle in the fully open position ie squeezed together , (nylon zip tie or string?)and regulate using the thumbscrew.
You should of had a valve rather than a handle its easier and so much safer to work with. Did the guy that supplied the FE remove the bar that runs to the bottom of the cylinder inside the tank?
Weigh the tank, has all the co2 got out somehow, unlikely but?
Let us know how you get on?

Screw it in to increase the gas flow, screw it out to decrease the gas flow.

Hi Covey, I got a double-reg from AleAlex, worked a treat on my fire extinguisher. If you unscrew the nut at the bottom of the screw a bit to loosen the adjusting screw, then turn the screw slowly clockwise, keeping your gas flowing, you should see the pressure increasing.
hope this makes sense...

I don't recommend doing that. If you are not holding it really hard the tank will shift in your hands and break your wrist. Beware.

Thanks lads i dont have a pic to hand but will tomorrow,
When i pressed the handle the down full the outlet dial maxed out and the pressure release valve on the reg start flutering. i had the screw tighted all the way in so it may have been on full release thus causing the problem. if i unscrew the reg center and depress the handle the tank dial should go up but the out valave will be still closed untill i start screwing it back in... Right :-/

Snuffs right lets do this properly

Connect your reg
Release pressure from your keg, you need to do this to have a co2 flush to remove oxygen in any case
Unscrew your thumbscrew not all the way
Open fe valve by depressing handles
Don't stand over it when doing this
Gradually start to turn your thumbscrew clockwise your pressure on dial will increase and you will hear your keg hissing and leave at whatever your desired pressure is connected
A spray of star San or or soapy water will show if you have any leaks around valve area

Please post back to confirm you have not killed yourself ;)

Ya, i clean/santized/filled them today and purged the Headspace Both kegs are in the fridge so will be nice and cold for carbing. One main question does the thumb screw being closed fill the main dial and not the outlet dial until the screw is open. The guy did take ou the dip tubes for me but it still has the Handle. Hope to have me kegerator on show at my mates Stag so need both carbed for Sat

Jesus Sat is cutting it fine you better start rolling that keg around the floor and push up pressure.
It should look like this and would normally take me anywhere from 1-2 weeks to get where I want in this case pils as other posters will comment at just under 1 bar i like a good belch [smiley=laugh.gif]
Tank is full, but is my spare, you don't get much notice when it starts to run out hence spare ;)

Hi Lads,
Case closed, thanks to Ciderhead. He talked me through the whole thing, it was the locking nut at the back of the thumb screw that was the problem. And thank to him im just after pouring my first beer. will post pics of my new kegerator in the kegerator pics topic!

Thanks
lads for all your help
