Minchs COA says its an 80% yield which is a potential of 1.037. Using the dry basis gives 1.0385. Dry basis is usually used for brewing terms, basing the moisture level in the malt as zero.

Longtime since I've been around, who knew babies took up soooo much time!

Jonmuni, the figures are fine. A 1.051 beer 22 liters pre boil with a 3L/hr evaporation rate will give a 1.062 SG. The starter would explain the other 0.001. The most important measurement is the mash efficiency measurement, that's the one that tells you how much sugar you're getting out of the malt.

There's a setting gone awry in BS there, something in the boil.

Lads. Where did you get the info on the Minch Malt?
And can it be entered into BS to get the correct diastatic value??

DEMPSEY

Beersmith has a section to add malts to your list of malts
Dei miscendarum discipulus
Forgive us our Hangovers as we forgive those who hangover against us

that sheet isnt too clear to read off the values.
is there a link that someone has for the minch malt values?

It's addressed to the Honebrewcompany in the top left, maybe drop them a mail for it?

Sorry only seeing this now, the figure you're after is 6th from the bottom: DP Windisch Kolbach Dry Basis ( Diastatic Power Windisch Kolbach Dry Basis ) and is stated as 303 WK units (European Units), to convert from WK units to Lintner units ( American Units), as required by Beersmith, add 16 to the WK units and divide by 3.5.
303 + 16 = 319
319 รท 3.5 = 91.14 Lintner

There's no such thing as bad beer - some just taste better than others
