It's a very good stir plate. I've used a 250ml, 500ml and 2l flask in it at varying speeds and its brilliant. I'm really impressed with it.

I used a 2L growler at the weekend and took it off at one point when I was fiddling. Getting it back in sync was as simple as putting it back down and turning it on again. No fecking around trying to seat the stupid bar you can't see or anything, even through a big thick chunk of glass.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

It's a great piece of kit IMO. Very reliable and very effective.
Every little helps

Results from using it for the first time was some very healthy yeast. This is 12 hours after pitching. The blowoff jar was only 1/4 full of water at pitching and now the bottom of the fridge is filled with runoff. I've diverted to the smaller fermentor now, so at least I can collect some nice clean yeast easily without needing to wash...

Yep, 100% solid piece of kit for me. You won't regret it.

Put my 3d printer to use and printed the chasis for a stir plate from them, just need to get an 80mm fan and a flask and it'll be ready, flask will be the most expensive bit about it.

What about these lads in denmark: http://brewsci.net/product/magnetic-stir-plate-bas02/

They seem solid, look nice too! You'd probably need the more expensive model though as that one only supports up to 2L flasks. This one supports up to 5L and they are still good value at €65.
