;) Dear Santa, I've been a very good boy this year ...

I want, I want, I want, ...

Apart from not StarSanning the lid that was sitting on the shelf, brill!!

I can see new regs for the Nationals; 2 x beers to be packed in 500ml cans only.

LordEoin

$1500 for th emachine and ~30cent a can is a bit steep IMO.
and LOL they sell the lidl calipers for $25 :D

For a club or a bar that's doable or the Pegas system for filling bottles, at indyman they had a canning line so you rock up to a stand with your can fill it and return to the line to have it sealed

I'm not an engineer, but would it be hard to replicate it?

I'm thinking, most of it is manual, bar the spinning can as this is run by a motor, the crimping and sealing is done by hand...

My beautiful drawing...

Perhaps a drill as a motor :)

LordEoin

it'd probably be easier and cheaper to modify a food can sealer like one of these:

Next problem would be to source cans ?

Wow, so it is! So basically invent an arm to go on a bench drill  :)

Are they the Can in the van people. they have a van set up with a canning equipment in the back.

bigvalen

Yeah. I gave them a shout earlier...they will have something to offer homebrewers "in a few weeks". Might be an idea for club meet ups ... do a canning day, with swapping.

The tricky part is not the sealing of a lid to the can but getting a gassed up beer filled to the brim of the can with no oxygen pick and no foam as you fill the can.

Mmm wonder what the cost of that would be... It'd be class to give family some cans for Christmas!

I think the price to the microbreweries was 50c a can.
