Keggle build.

So over the last few days between trips to the hardware shop an pestering the father in law for tools I finally made my keggle. I used two Argos elements and once fitted they both leaked like mad. I had a silicone baking sheet in the cupboard so I made two gaskets to go inside the keg behind the elements. I wired the elements like the "cellar dewellers" video on YouTube. I don't have a hole drilled for the tap yet as I didn't get the bit. But going to sort that on Monday. I also made a immersion chiller tonight. It looks like a piece of modern art but I'm happy with it! Anyone who is thinking about making one let me know, I'll help as much as I can, I'm not very handy at all and my hands are as soft as a baby's arse so if I can make it anyone could. Any feed back is welcome!!
The beer is a Finlandia ale hack that's been in the bottle for a few weeks. Lovely stuff.

couple of questions though...
where is that earth wire connected to? I thought the top screw was earth on those elements.
What is the red gasket you have on the inside?

The earth wire is connected via a terminal ring to the bottom right as you look at the picture. I asked a mate of mine who is an electrician did it seem legit and he said it was grand. The red gasket is a silicone baking sheet.

No it looks that way in the photo but it's actually connected to the fixing screw on the bottom right.

It might be a bit clearer in the pic, but you can make out where I drilled out the holes for the terminals (they are just below the top screw) the screw on the bottom right is what I'm earthed to.

Keggle looks great. How are the elements working out for you? How long does it take to bring a full keg up to the boil? Are they expensive to run? Where did you buy them? Sorry for all the Q's, I have some kegs that I'm about to convert and I just want to know what I'm in for.  Cheers

Cheers Mossy! I haven't had a full boil yet as it was late when I finished putting in the elements, I just turned them on the make sure they worked. Work and life got in the way so I'm only getting a hole saw tomorrow to drill out the tap, will do a full boil tomorrow evening and let you know then how long it takes. I asked a electrician mate of mine whether gas or electric would be more cost effective and he reckoned it would be pretty similar in price. Two of those kettle elements is 4kW and that is enough power to do the job. Biggest problem with those ones is safety. There are exposed terminals that could cause electricution or fire.
