I have an American Banjo burner that wont fit Irish Gas tanks

Like the title says, I have https://www.amazon.com/Bayou-Classic-KAB4-Pressure-Cooker/dp/B0009JXYQY type of burner. I have been trying to ring and call every gas man in the region to find out how I can use an adapter or change out the regulator to use Irish propane tanks.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. It is a type 1 connection currently using a M5HPR30 regulator. I moved my homebrew equipment from the states in November and I have yet to do a brew here. I'm really itching to go.

Cheers.

I'm guessing change the hose and regulator and you're good to go, but I'm no expert.

Cheers for the reply. The owner of Black Donkey in Roscommon had the same problem when he moved here and he send me an email explaining how he solved it. I have to get a new part for the regulator that fits on the Irish gas tanks.  As for your solution, every Hardware store and gasman has been very skeptical of doing that, and they basically put their hand up and say bring it elsewhere. The system I have puts out about 200000 btus and is powerful so I am a little scared of putting on the wrong regulator.

The green bit in the Amazon picture is the coupler.
200000 BTUs, thats 58kW, 10 times the output of one typically used here.
Please put the detail if the adapter up here.

Take a close up photo of the regulator. Is should give the optimum pressure required. Regulators here are 37mbar.

You can get propane regulators which are adjustable to 4 bar here

Hamilton is the goto suppluiere to the NCB!

They uderstand the ROI fittings and will advise you accordingly. Delivery is cheap as well

Thank you so much for the reply all. I got on to Hamilton gas and they recommended the regulator Will_D suggested. Thank you Will.
For any future lurker looking for the same problem, the following items does the trick.

Good job.
Does that equate to changing the hose and regulator so?

Darragh1980

Yes , it did equate to changing the hose and regulator. I got the hose and regulator this morning. Unfortunately the connection on the hose that screws in to the burner is not compatible so I am at square one. It is a flare fitting on the original pigtail and this one is not.
Hop Bomb kindly PM'd me a company in Galway that might be able to help by altering the US regulator. Nobody will switch out the connections on the hoses because of regulations.
Thought I finally had a solution after three weeks searching.   :(

Dr Horrible

You might have an NPT thread vs BSP thread issue. Your American connections are nearly definitely NPT whereas this side of the pond it will be BSP.  Some connections kind of fit but for a gas connection you'll need a NPT-BSP adaptor. You'll have to do a bit of looking but they're definitely available.
