Serving Cask from a Corny keg

Hi All,

Recently ive been looking into serving beer on a beer engine.  What makes this possible is a device called a cask breather (about 18 - 24 pounds each) which lets c02
into the corney as the beer is being served at 5psi . The big advantage here is that it would extend the life of the beer to 3 weeks at least.

I've been trying to get this holy grail (real ale) to work for years. Nearly there.

Another option I'm interested in is serving out of a polypin (a sort of clear plastic bag) with a beer engine. The polypin just collapses as you draw beer out. You can even prime to a low level in them. I think it was on Jim'sBK I saw a tutorial about it.

As with all the cask options, the beer still loses condition after a week or two.

All of these measures protect it from micro flora and oxidation, but the condition eventually disappears unless you dial up the serving pressure.

Still worth it though: my last poly pin beer was a cracker.

I get all my stuff from Inn Cellar Equipment at www.inncellar.co.uk

I've just checked, and they've gone waaaay up in price! £20, now, although aspirators/breathers are £40.

Expensive hobby.
