In the news today. Horse found in "beef" burgers from Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Lidl, Aldi and Iceland.

One "beef" product in Tesco was 29% horse :o

DEMPSEY

Nothing wrong with horse meat, only issue is putting it in burgers and telling people it came from a cow.

60 million French can't be wrong there is a significant trade of horses from here to there, apparently not all wanted to leave  ;D

As dempsey said the issue is not telling people, horse taste similar to beef, a little gamier and tougher is all. I doubt most people could tell the difference if it was cooked right :o

The French are NOT alone in this regard; the Dutch eat it too.

I've had Zebra before and it was actually delicious. (Although it was Zebra chili so the flavor was certainly hidden.)

What was the name of the famous missing racehorse?

Was it Shergar or BurgerYoumate??
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

The horse can now be renamed "Tesco Quarter Pounder"  :o

Just checked the burgers in the fridge and there off

I've tried Lidl and Tesco burgers and I have to say Tesco wins by a nose.

Never having another one of those Tesco burgers. Gave me the trots.

I think I had Tesco Horseburger last night by mistake. Never again. Had terrible night mares

Traces of zebras found in Tesco barcodes.

I bet #Tesco hate being saddled with this story. Their PR agency must be bridling too. They'll just have to get the bit between their teeth.

[ch8232]Whatever next? My Lidl pony?

I see absolutely no problem with horsemeat in my burgers, which is why my mane is so glossy and I'm running in the 3:10 at Lepardstown

Can't believe that woman was sent to hospital after eating a horse meat burger...... Her condition is said to be stable

I expect this only relates to those mini-burgers you have as snacks. You know, the horse d'oeuvres.

Gotta admin tho', when disease inevitably hits - 'Crazy Horse' sounds way cooler that 'Mad Cow'

So hungry I could eat a horse... Guess I'll go to TESCO.

jesus John,your cracking me up here, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think burgers are a bit like beer. The ones you make yourself are the best - and home-made burgers with homebrew are even better.

Sorry Tub it wasn't me that posted that about the frenchies :o
