does my head in. When they first got micro beers in they had everything under the sun. Then the shelf space dwindled and the selection shrank, to the point where there was virtually none. Now it has exploded again, but still not a hoppy beer in sight!

And the prices, I seriously have to wonder about some of them. All PH 330ml bottles are now €2.29, up from €1.50. I think that might help them not to sell, and it won't win any converts.

Actually thats a pretty high increase 150 - 229 - over 50%

Its fair price is about the 2€ mark in my book
(considering you can buy most beers at the 2.50€)

Galway Tesco has Sierra Nevada pale ale. Thats the best of it. Loads of UK pale ales which I think are lame. Huge fan of the US stuff (its what re-ignited my homebrew spark) O Briens is about a 2 min walk from it so I just got there for beer as they've a way better selection (nothing on Redmonds though)

Tesco have a pack of 4 traditional pint glasses for 3.50e. Great weight to them & very same as the Sierra Nevada ones without the logos. Woodies also have a pack of 4 stem beer glasses for 4.50e last time I was in there.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Which is bizarre considering they are selling 500ml bottles of O'Hara's stout for €1.80!!!  :o

Guys. This is Tesco.
Low prices/Loss leaders to get you in.
AFAIK, they target and pricepoint specific products offered by opposition locally (offies in this case I guess), once they establish a trade in new lines they put the price point back to where they make a margin.
If you're friendly with your local offie and they have a Tesco nearby, ask them what they think.

In the UK there was the 'Doughnut' effect on a lot of towns where the multiples popped up in Shopping Centres on the outskirts of towns competing against each other but damaging and closing the ton centre once they mopped up all the business. This is largely mirrored here.
