I have just decanted the last of my Lea & Perrins Worchestershire suace into a small standard sized bottle!

"Whats all the fuss Will?" I hear someoneone say.

The fuss is this was the last of the 1 gallon of L&P I bought in Manchester in about 1995. The BBD is 1998!!

It has slowly matured into a gorgeous, unctious version of that county's finest product!

Will I but another Gallon? Probably not as it will outlive me!

I saw a program on the BBC and didn't realise that muck was discovered by 2 chemists by accident

Thanks for the link - never new that story.

One story I did hear from a maintenence engineer who did some work in their factory was that

1. The fumes from the boiling pans would etch the window glass

2. The stainless steel stirrers didn't last as long as they should have!
