I got this email the other day.

I presume its business as usual ..

The HomeBrewCentre has changed owners, and is now managed by BrewSmarter Ltd (the owners or www.brewsmarter.co.uk, www.homebrewwest.ie, and many others). We are in the process of completely updating the website; for now visitors are redirected to http://www.homebrewwest.ie. Advantages are better stock control, and a much wider selection of products. Please let us know if you would like us to stock any new products.

There is no shipping charge on orders over 65 Euros until midnight on Thurs 31st Jan 2013.

Check out the bargain bucket: http://www.homebrewwest.ie/the-bargain-bucket-57-c.asp.

We have hundreds of new products including Cellar 7 and Solomon Grundy wine kits.

Hambleton Bard are visiting us in Galway over the coming weeks, and Muntons are coming too mid Feb. We will keep you posted and email details as soon as dates have been finalized.

As always, our beer bundles are available for most beer kits and are superb value; just click on a beer, and then select "Bundle Options".

The homebrewcentre were based in Sligo.
Was this where the crowd that were in Birdhill/Ballina/Killaloe went to?

I suspect it's more to do with accessing the UK Market like their competitor.

My first pile of gear came from Homebrew centre about 4 years ago - I got the impression it was a guy on his own (actually the website ahd a little piece about him) but his name was actually Brian too.
It was only a small operation (he used to ring me almost straight after my order went in!!) from what I gathered and yes i think he operated out of Sligo - but io know he was supplied by HBW same way as THBC.

The Brian who owned the Homebrew Center used to have a homebrew shop in Limerick years ago, got a lot of my stuff there. He is a nice guy.

Dont get confused - www.thehomebrewcompany.ie is the guy in Laois and has nothing to do with the above conversation.

I dont think he's going anywhere just yet.
