Supermac's burger supplier was found to have 75% horse in it's beef burgers, but Supermacs maintain they didn't make it as far as the shops. Does a-neigh-one believe them?

And only last week i heard an ad on the radio in the style of Ben Dunne advertising, saying how all the supermacs beef was 100% irsh and beef.
And even their cheese and bundies were irish - it was a bit OTT and obviously addressing the current horsey issue.

It'll all come out shortly that it wasn't Johnny Forgeigner at all and that it's all Irish horse that's in the burgers. I bet the Poles are really pissed at being implicated in that shitebag Goodmans dirty business. He should have been taken out of the industry after the beef tribunals, but then he had powerful friends in Longford.

I heard that myself - thought they were a little quick with that and laying the irish angle on with a trowel - guess its kinda bitten them in the oul proverbial now 

I like supermacs though - much prefer to go in there than the Golden Arse or any of the other franchises - at least it is actually Irish - food is better too - head them talking  on the radio about branching out down under soon

I make my own burgers from butchers/market mince, and I'm fairly anal about it, as I just think processed burgers taste like crap, so not too worried about the latest scandal from my view as a consumer. What I'd like to know is if these burgers are being sold as Irish Burgers, or are they just being sold as burgers with no particular claim to being Irish. If they are being sold as Irish, I have more of an issue with the filler being brought in from abroad than I do with the fact that the filler is mostly horse.
