I think Black brew may have picked up some containers in woodies before with this type of plastic

anyway.. i'm at it again.. wanderin into shops and picking up crap

went into b&q on lunch break ( closing down sale 30% off)

picked up 3 10 litres drums for €10.30 - figured its a handy way to experiment on a batch

they have the HDPE 2 mark on them with the recycle arrow thingy and a food safe stamp yolk - think its a fork and a wine glass ?
so.. whats teh verdict  - good to go - or forget about it ???

coz theres always something new to do

If its a closing down sale what about 10mm copper coils. If they are going discounted then DO NOT LET THEM GO. :). Always find a home by way of a group buy. p.s. 12mm would be better. :)

If they are translucent and not a full colour, i.e. bright white, good to go. ;)

Sorry to hi-jack but did anyone ever try to use one of these as a bulk fermenter?

I guess it depends on two things - what you want to use it for  - storage ? boil kettel ?? ( some one floated that idea before !!)

and what was in it in its previous life

I think there is some info on plastic in general in this postand these barrels were mentioned in it
