force carbing

hey folks ..... some more inane questions and ramblings ...

picked up a fridge ( with a small freezer ) recently - comfortably fits 2 cornies and teh co2 cylinder

I kegged and bottled 2 Pale Ale batches today - a Rakue/Casade & Amirilllo/Cascade

have a dual reg - but only set up to gas one keg at the moment, anyway ..

I didn't really batch prime this time around ( I primed a few 1 litre bottles but not the kegs )

So I have the Amirillo /Cascade PA  rigged up in the fridge -  Reg dial is in bar - so I have it carbing now at 2 Bar - fridge is set at lowest setting  ( bust thermo so dont really know the temp - but.. its fridge cold )

Question - when will it be carbed like this ? 2 - 3 days ? - I guess I could whip out the keg and roll it around - but not that pushed - although my imature -I want it now is battling with my more mature side - leave it !!
 

also I set it at 2 bar as this equates to  @ 30 psi - which I think will give me the 2.5 Vol of CO2 - does that seem right ?

It really depends on the temp, I believe. The lower the temp the more gas can be absorbed by a liquid.Keep an eye on it. You will have to bleed it to pour a sample without foaming.

thanks Rossa - yeah I'll prob leave it til Saturday/Sunday - had wicked foaming issues before - beleive me I've sprayed ceilings and what not - i was lucky woth the cold weather though just looked strange going out in the back yard to pour a pint

I'm more in the camp of leaving for a week at your required pressure and it will get there, I forced a few times and forgot about the bloody stuff and ended out like the kid from Willy Wonka in the burping scene

Next time you'll do it, follow instructions from attached video.
Tested on over carbed ale. Happy with results!

Thanks, i'd be afraid of liquid running back up gas tube.
Its easier for me now just to carb over a week

If you increase pressure on regulator no liquid should get into gas tube.

If you bleed first it won't push back up the hose.

I spotted ths Vijoe before.
Gas in and Liquid out are Keyed unless I'm mistaken
