I like new wheels, think outside the box, the fact that we have differentiated ourselves to date illustrates that new wheels work

IMHO I like the model where people are offering their skill sets rather than formalised roles, that way like a family, they are bringing to the table skill sets that they have and will enjoy what they want to do and don't feel uncomfortable in positions that they feel obligated to fill, in what is still a voluntary organisation.

Having the bank a/c in Celbridge is no more a problem than having it anywhere else. Once Padraic and I get this a/c system con pute ter ized, it will be able to be transfered to somebody else taking up the position.

I'm happy enough to be a team member instead of bossman if you're happy to take that on.

I see we don't actually have a seecretary.

This is an important positition as it documents the descisions taken by the club and its executive for future committees. It also acts as a postmaster for incoming mail and first point of contact for people wishing to contact the club about more formal things like offers of sponsoship, advertising opportunities etc.

As James is doing membership (secretary?) would he consider the broader role?

Just as an aside


For any club  to be legally constituted there must be at least three roles defined
Chair
Secretary
Treasurer

there must be at least a chair and a secretary and if there isn't a treasurer that role must be assumed by either of those two officers .

After that the constitution of a club can define whatever other roles and offices they want , by election or co-option appointment or whatever .

But you have to have  a chair and a secretary ( who must be two different people )


Don't ask where I got these rules from , but I did look into this some years back and that's the legal position .

Also I would like to see 2 co-ordinators (like the regional groups get) for the "non-affiliated to a group members" - no rush to fill these 2 positions - will depend on posts and contributions and nominations by the rest of the un-afiliated members .
