Just wondering when we think these will land, and when we might get together to brew? I've just found out that I need to go to the US for work at the end of the month, so wouldn't be able to brew until the second week of May or thereabouts.

Also has anyone had a barrell aged black IPA before? I still like the idea of it, but some people have mentioned that the whiskey might clash with the hops a bit, which I was thinking myself, but we can discuss that in more detail when we meet up. Anyone around this week to discuss it?

No chance of me making a meeting midweek but i am happy to go with whatever the consensus recipe and process is!

Not sure I'll be able to make it in tomorrow night. My best chance is after nine (when smallies are asleep ).  Either way, like Sam I'm happy to go with the consensus.  I'm not too fussy what we make and would be just happy to partake in an epic brew day with others.

I'm easy on the recipe specifics, but I do think it needs to be a stout.

Hi John.

Are you still planning on meeting up tonight, or do you want to push it out? I won't be around at the weekend. I was talking to Sam today, and we are okay with doing a stout as long as there is a decent amount of hops in it!

In relation to the date of the actual brewday, how about Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th of May, out at my house? Sam will bring his gas setup and I also brew on gas, and I can probably support two electric boliers, with one powered from the house, and another from the garage, and I probably have a smaller spare gas setup if anyone wants to man that. RE ingredients, for Malt, I have plenty of pale, wheat, black, chocolate, roast, and carafa. I might also toast some oats, so they have time to mellow. I have plenty of different types of hops, and I have a big block of nottingham yeast. If people can manage, maybe an idea to drop their equipment out prior to the brew.

If people let me know if they have availability for that weekend, we can work out the details.
