Question was asked re: time limit that applies to editing posts.

...

Can you not do that?

LordEoin

Nope. i remember it was the same on the old forums too until it was flagged so I could update and evolve them a bit.
I can modify recent posts on here (since the changeover) but not older ones :)

edit:
I checked the beginners' guide and yeast threads too and I don't have a modify button there either.

johnrm

When you say recent posts?...

Do you mean you CAN edit OPs in new threads since changeover, but not on legacy threads?
Could you email me a screenshot of an OK and the not-OK?

I just moved the 'Cooper's Kit Yeast' thread to a new thread and moved it back.
That might trick the forum into thinking its a new thread.
Let me know if this has any effect.
Next test might be to split the thread.

I wonder is this the difficulty deadman seems to be experiencing elsewhere.  :( :-X

I found it.
Its set to 14 days.
This has not been a problem up to now as far as I am aware.

I checked the forum settings...
User has 14 days to Edit, after this a Mod has to do it.
10 Minutes are allowed for a post to be edited before logging the last edit date.

LordEoin

That's a bit of a balls for instructables or stickies.
There are very few beers that you'll have done from start to finish within 14 days, so informational threads will need to be either spread out and messy or thrown together quickly as a frankenstein post.
