I won some tickets on a facebook competition, third time I've won stuff on Facebook and the best prize was a Sony Xperia Tablet.

In any case I can't decide which day to go and was wondering if it's worth it anyway.

Anyone was there last year?

Not only do we brew unbelievably good beer in Wicklow but we also produce Bloom Gold Medal Winning Landscape Gardeners,

congratulations to Damo (not surprised really have you seen his brewshed on the forum!)

There was a "beer tent" through bord bia with Irish craft beers and ciders with the usual suspects there last year, and if the weather forecast for the next couple of days it would be bliss!
Oh yeah and there was some garden stuff there as well ;)

Update Only see Metalman and Teeling whiskey listed as exhibitors at the Bloom inn?

Garden...meh

Beer....yay!!!

Metalman and Teeling, sounds like a complete session at least, even was nobody else there. I am going purely for the food and drink.

O'hara's are there and I believe Hooker and Dungarvan also.

Mighty Schtuff as they'd say down Tubes neck of the woods.

Went a few years ago. Really enjoyed it. Loads of nice food on offer. Bring cash, so you don't late to que at the atm, and go on your motorbike if you have one. Then you can skip the car chaos in the phoenix park....:-)

How much does it cost in? I heard it's not chape.

I think the ticket is 20 bills for the day, tis a sight.

Damo

Hi

Only seeing this now.

For anyone thinking about going I'd say its well worth the effort.

It is €20 per adult but kids are free. Theres plently to see and keep you busy.

The food village is good, plenty of tasters, lots of artisan food stalls and most importantly a craft beer tent!
I spied metalman, porterhouse, o'haras, dungarvin, white gypsy and stonewell cider among others.

Oh Yeah, the gardens are pretty cool.

Damo

I'm Tim Austen's principal contractor

I was pretty much responsible for the construction and completion of one of the large show gardens!
Basically, I was given a set of cad plans and asked to build it to show standard :)

This involved all sorts of crap from picking out mossy boulders and rocks from a farmers field in wicklow, collecting water pumps in Ballymount to finding a bloke who could design and build a bench seat suitable to fit in with tim's vision, not to mention physically laying pavings slabs which had to be mm. perfect :)

Over the 3 week build I had 1 saturday off to attend a wedding and six 15-16hr days.

tho the end result justify's the hard work!
Now all I have to do is reaquaint myself with the kids and mend a broken relationship :(

JimmyM

Wow fair play damo.
When you're finished with your relationship mender ill get it off ya. Ive had my eye out for a good one for ages.

So I ended up attending on the Saturday, I had a few Stonewell ciders and the kids enjoyed themselves.

In all, I was really just interested in the food and drink area. I got to meet my good friend Padraigh Og Gallagher from the Boxty house there too.

It was a nice day in all, I found the prices reasonable too, it appears people are getting the message post celtic tiger.
