Picked up some of it last week in Lidl as someone in the house has a fondness for my regular stuff and it's disappearing. Got caught short more than once.

Is it just me, or does the Lidl stuff smell like fly spray? Not usually one to rag on Lidl, but I'm convinced the put the wrong stuff in the can.

I've been using Thai deo stones for over 20 years now, ever since my mate in Germany put me onto them I've not used a spray.

You just apply the deo stone after a shower or by wetting the stone and for about 7 or 8 euros you get a stone which lasts you for over two years.

It has the advantage of being able to use any aftershave or cologne on top of it and not smell like a brothel from all the smells which don't match.

I can get my local chemist to order them in for me, should be the same in any chemist. They are made of alum which I also use post shaving to stop ingrown hairs infecting, it's the main constituent of most spray deodorants.

So these stone are free from any smell?

Totally, it's a lump of crystal, it doesn't even appear to transfer stuff to your skin.

It works totally on the anti-bacterial level and it protects for about 36 hours before you need to shower and reapply.

Aluminium salts are what are used in deo sprays to kill bacteria and this is the concentrated form Alum.
