Hi all, got this message from a friend who is helping organise the above. Have posted this in both the NHC & Beoir to see if anyone is interested...

Dublin Community Growers in partnership with the Environmental Focus Group of Dublin City Council Community Forum will be holding a Harvest Festival on September 14th in Wolfe Tone Square from 12 to 5.

The festival is a family friendly event and highlights the great work that is happening in community gardens all across the city.  The Harvest Festival will include an exhibitors hall, displays, music and children's entertainment, talks on a variety of topics as well as lots of information about community gardens in your area.

We're basically looking to include more crafty stands in our expo hall as we think that these are of interest to people involved or interested in gardening.  If someone comes they could either sit at a stand and chat to people and promote their own organisation or do live demos.  We charge €50 per stand unless you absolutely cant afford it or can do some demos etc.  So far we will have beekeeping, willow weaving/sculpting, apple press, live hens, possibly cookery demo (not of the hens!), seed bomb and other workshops for kids.  There will also be a pop up garden and a whole range of groups including Dublin Food Co-op, Dublin Cycling Campaign, loads more as well.  It went very well last year and we're expecting it to be even better this year.

I've already emailed my friend back saying that while there might be homebrewers interested in talking about making beer (or indeed doing a demo on the day) that no one would be interested in paying €50 for the privelige! I've always thought there was an intersection between gardening and brewing.

Growing my own fruit & veg was my "gateway" into homebrewing many years ago- I needed something to replenish me after a hard day of graft in the garden  ;)

Anyways, if anyone is interested, let me know.

A week after 4 days of the RDS, exhibition stand fatigue will be the problem here :(

I'd like to see this happen, but I can't help as i'm away in the UK that weekend!

Why was that moved? Its a Dublin Community thing, if it was a Wicklow Community Growers Harvest Festival I wouldn't expect my colleagues from Galway to help?
