Warped hop spider

I made a hop spider today. I took inspiration from one I've seen Ciderhead post up before. I did a brew tonight and the hopper is warped after a 45min boil! Is this common?

OK. You've got a jubilee clip around the circular opening of the hopper. I used a bungee cord around the square opening of the hopper. There must have been too much pressure on the square opening with the bungee cord??

I started with 30ish litres in the keggle and ended up with 21 litres in the FV so I don't think it was that close to the boil?

I think you hit the nail on the head Garry, if it was too much heat the qualpex would have dropped the entire spider into the keggler

Actually they are 2 totally different materials so no qualpex wouldn't have fallen in.

The qualpex stood up to the heat fine. My problem was that I had the hop bag tied onto the square top of the hopper with a bungee cord. When the hopper heated up the pressure must have been too much and it warped. I think?

Looking at CH's one again, does the circular opening look a bit eliptical? Or is that an optical illusion?

You have been drinking your brew again, its perfectly circular, if I have a massive hop loading I turn it upside down and it looks like a chimney wiyh the bag down the middle,  I used the keg spears drilled through the pvc funnel that could be the jubilee clip keeping it that way.
JD convinced me to get a stainless one instead of the old galvanised one I had on it previously.
