I can't find the thread but I'm sure we agreed the 1st Friday.
Lo and behold this is almost upon us.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make our, a wedding beckons, so I'll let my fellow Rebels get the list going.
If you want to pick a theme for the meet, that might be useful...
Swap
Taste
Session
All of the above?

Taf

I think the lee valley might be meeting that night, so maybe a joint tasting if they are up for it. Not sure if I will make it either.

johnrm

I've no problem if the Lee Valley don't.
I'm sure the Rebels can work away in their own corner if need be.
I'll post over on the Lee Valley board.

Tasting goes without saying, but I really enjoyed the swaps and think that we should pursue this more.
It's great to try a load of different drops throughout the night and be able to talk about them, but after a while the tastebuds get a little worn out and you don't appreciate someone else's brew as much as you would after letting it settle and chill properly in the comfort of your own home  :)

@mr happy: i'll bring the bottle of isomerised hop extract and a syringe. I remember you were curious about it.

Jaysus, that's hardcore. Just remember, no matter how bad things get, never share syringes!  By working together we can deal with this evil epidemic before it engulfs the Rebel Brewer community.
drinking - Brown porters (plain/oak aged/vanilla)
conditioning - American Amber (Jamil's evil twin)
Fermenting - air

LVBC are not having a meeting on this night, so looks like we will have the place to our selves. I will make sure that the F Well are aware of the date. I definitely won't be able to make it. Can people confirm if they hope to make it or not, so we can firm up numbers.

Edit : Actually I think I will try to make it. I brewed a light ale last weekend, and I might just bottle up a small bit this weekend, when I am dry hopping the main batch.

Actually.. balls. that's SWMBO's birthday. I won't make it either.

Just thinking, this is the weekend of the thing in the RDS. Would we get a better turn out if we pushed it out a week?

Taf

I don't mind either way, but won't be around the following week, as I will be in the US. I guess this is going to be the issue with proposing a fixed recurring schedule, as if 5 or 6 core attendees are not going to be able to make it, there mightn't be sufficient numbers, as the overall groups isn't big enough yet.

Blackbrew

Why not keep the date but change the venue to the RDS. No BYO but plenty of stuff to be tasted from around Ireland.

johnrm

@Sam, could do that if the lads want to head to Dublin.
I'm out of Country so it does not affect me.

Garry

When I came back from Lisdoon I was told that I'm not allowed go away again for 2 years! So Dublin is out for me :(

Taf

I'm going to Boston that weekend, so while I could swing a night in the Well, dublin is out for me. I already confirmed the booking the Well, but we can cancel that if need be. I will add a poll to see if people prefer the 6th or 13th

Edit : Does anyone know how to add a poll? I thought it would be foolproof, but obviously not!

johnrm

Theres a button up top to add a poll.
