Anyone used Isinglass to good effect?

I've tried twice, once using Harris Beer Bright and once with a Youngs finings and the results have been disappointing in both cases. I moved to secondary and added the finings and then bottled a couple of days after that. Neither beer carbonated at all, and neither cleared very much. The finings seem to leave a very easily disturbed sediment in the bottle.

I won't bother with this sort of thing again.

I am considering with a Kolsch I have at the moment as the bloody thing just wont clear even with cold crashing and it should be crystal. and would also appreciate any guidance, but as I keg carbonation won't be an issue.
I have used similar products on wine with great results.

Just use Sodium Silicate. This is the main ingredient of the Fish based natural product. Its probably cheaper then the organic thing!

Should be obtainable from health food shops. Builders merchants sometimes have it as its a good adhesive for glass and sealing concrete floor slabs.

Dissolve some gelatin with water, put it to the secondary 3-4 before bottling and put in cold place. That should clear your beer.

With these issue's of beer not clearing,have any of you identified what the problem is. Are you all grain brewing or is this extract or kit.

I have used Isinglass for my last few beers and it did a great job clearing them. This cold weather will help clear things.

I'm AG and am fairly comfortable it's not haze associated from brewing as I have a pilsner that's was brewed the following week and its crystal, the only variable was that I used Irish moss instead of whirlfloc, never again
Anyway gonna takes Rossas lead and go for it.
