Beer for tasting - BJCP

Hi everyone, it would be great if people could donate some beer to the bjcp tasting programme, whether the beer was good bad or ugly we appreciate all samples. We need the judges to be well rounded in tasting all qualities of beer!

So who can help us out?

About 2 litres would be ideal for this!

matthewdick23

i have a dubbel id love feedback on

mr hoppy

I've a dubbel as well. It was a first attempt and I'd do it different again but it's definitely drinkable.

I can give it to johnrm.

Padraic

That would be great lads! The more beers we get the better, especially the same style of beer!

Shanna

I have some scotch ale that is made from my take on the recipe Partridge9 brewed in tog a while back. It suffers from a carbonation problem that I would love to get top the bottom of. Once poured the Co2 almost dissappears immediately and I would love to know why. Can provide the recipe details from beer smith.

Thanks,

Shanna

Hijacking Padraics post here?
Can Mods move these 2 posts back to SCD where the issue was discussed to start or somewhere else?

The Co2 hasn't been absorbed into solution.
How did you prime?
How much did you prime with?
How long has it been in the bottle?
ABV?
What bottles are you using and how are you sealing them
How are you cleaning your bottles?

mr hoppy

Scotch ale would probably be an interesting one to taste side by side with Dubbels. They've a lot of similarities / shared origins and some obvious differences as well.

Shanna

Hi there

Don't see how our offer to donate beer can be seen as off topic CH. Definitely think your being more than a bit harsh especially since we are offering beer to somebody who is actively seeking it out . My understanding was that part of the bjcp was to develop skills for judges part of which is to identify flaws etc. Just to be clear my post was for Padraic asking him what I wanted in return for donating the beers and not start a discussion on the beer itself.

Padraic is looking for beers for BJCP

You are absolutely correct in trying to get an answer but flat beer is not a recipe problem it's a hardware issue or potentially a priming issue.

In the response to you I was accusing myself of hijacking the post something i am trying to get professional help with, so now get back on your horse and take your flat beer with you.

if you have a problem with your Co2 post it somewhere else as its a problem suffered by many and deserves a thread all of its own

TT

Shanna

Don't need help back on the horse genuinely thought it read like your were referring to the previous offers of beer hence the irrirated tone in my response. Apologies if it sounded like an over reaction.

Nuff said,

Shanna

Padraic

I would liek to get any beers ye have available as soon as possible, we have tasting sessions quite often over the next few months so whenever people can drop them to me in Dublin (or arrange for them to be sent to Dublin).

Shanna

Padraic can you collect them tomorrow at the Rds or else meet me at my office sometime over the next few weeks and collect them.
