I am considering heading to Kildare for a brenmurph brewday.

=Roadtrip

I can take a handful of rebels.
Theres a double in there too if a Mr and Mrs wants to travel, just no hanky panky as the rocking will wake everyone else.
No idea when yet, I need to warn brenmurph!

Sounds fun, but thats too soon I'm afraid.
Between BJCP, Weddings, Matches, travelling, I'm missing out on loads  :(

Lets see what lads are ok allowed to go.

Garry

I might be on for a day trip sometime? I definitely won't be allowed able to stay over though  :(

If anyone else was up for a daytrip I could drive but it won't be for a while. After October maybe?

But you're not equipped for the night feeds.

@ RM & lads

YE cork lads will love this..........Two weeks after this weekend its Bernard Shaw Stout  brewday again with fresh hops from the garden, it will be Saphir (aroma)  and Target  (bittering)
The Stout will be irish themed and plan is a cross between the Robustness of Beamish and the sweetness and more aromatic Murphys. The mission is to make a fab stout on Nitro that will share characteristics of both Cork stouts.
Recipe:

MCI Irish stout malt
Home roasted Kildare grown Raw barley
Home roasted MCI Irish pale malt
Honey and lactose for Murphy's sweetness  as I cant get Irish Caramel malt.
Beetroot  from gardenfor some earthyness
Oats from Athy, Kildare for body & head retention also cooked and caramelised for sweetness

Just to clarify, this week is Bernard Dhaw fresh hop brewday 1. Plan is to do the 1962 Original Irish lager recipe ( Harp) which is actually a beautiful beer, lager / pilsner malt, decoction/ caramaelisation, hallertauer aroma, and saaz. Any lager yeast and 3 weeks on ice when its fermented.

re overnighting or day trip

All very welcome to stay over, we have toilet/ shower, mains hook, water, and camping ground, plenty space for numerous cars, campers and so on.
Ideally 6-10 people is sound. For camping we can accomadate 3 x 2 person tents in our all weather campsit inside polytunnel so warm and very dry and if you fancy some eggs for breakfast work away, the quails dont mind they just lay more.. just dont fuc*gin eat our quails..

sounds like a great plan John RM hop ur lads can do it...guaranteed a great weekend!.  BTW if my 12 different beers and your samples arnt enough theres two craft pubs in the town selling at least 10 different beers

johnrm

You're some man Bren. All that way and no Quail? ;)
