So Getting geared up for home w/in the next 2 weeks & have ordered some extras to upgrade my kit including a BrewBelt
Im gona order the STC-1000 temp controller for it too, so question is,
Do you stick the probe into the FV or stick it on the outside? I was thinking of sticking it on the outside w/some insulation around it so the room temperature shouldnt be picked up by it.
Is the little probe that comes w/it ok to use or should I upgrade that to something better?
Cheers in advance

Outside. Easier, cheaper, cleaner.

Thinking that alright, so the small probe on the outside is good enuf w/just some insulation round it? Was thinking of knocking up a insulated box @ some stage, but just a wrap for now?

I just tape mine to the outside with a strip of insulating tape.

Sounds simple enuf  ;D

Also you could use one of those cheap foam pot scrubbers from the shops, the ones with green on one side and sponge on the other ;) Just put the sponge against the probe, you don't need to use the whole thing, cut it with a scissors. ;D

The plan is to invest in a small 100Ltr fridge or something to dedicate to beer & build a unit around it that will take the FV, possibly insulated. but theres a list of projects that need sorting, this one however needs to get sorted as my 'office'/ Brewing room is getting turned into a fecking nursery so I have to do something.
1at things 1st is to get all the kit & get a brew on so @ the moment its just temporary so I can get that sorted

Call into your local home appliance shop.
They often take in the customer's old fridge for free disposal and might give you one or sell you one cheap.
It will save them having to drag it off to the recycling depot.

Otherwise, check out donedeal.ie and adverts.ie and you'll find one for next to nothing :)

Didnt think of that, was on power citysweb site, seen a few round a 100, but if I could get one cheaper the rest could go towards filling it  ;D
