Hi all,

We're off to Dublin on Sunday (taking the kids to the zoo) and staying in a hotel in Sutton Cross Sunday night.

Any recommendations for decent pubs/restaurants, preferably selling craft beer, around said area would be welcomed.

Cheers,

it's a €25/€30 taxi fare into town from that hotel and as said the trains out there are off for the weekend for maintenance.

Cheers lads.

We'll have cars with us and kids, so buses & late taxis to and from town won't really come into it, unless me and the brother-in-law-in-law (what's the term if he's married to my wife's sister?), decide enough's enough and fancy a wild night in town at one of them young-fangled discos, (dances/clubs - the term changes depending what decade you're in - can't remember which it is at the minute).

But judging by the the flavour of the replies so far am I right to assume there's bugger all in Sutton Cross?

I've never forgiven Gaybo for leaving the Late Late. Pat Kenny was Tennents to Gaybo's Ormeau Dark.

Just can't see us getting into town. Real shame. Plus, I'm missing the NHC gig by a day too :(

Next stop on the dart from sutton is Howth which was hooker in the bloody stream. It's right beside the train station and if right beside the market that runs on a Sunday. If your staying in the marine horel it's should be less then 10 yoyo back to the hotel if you don't want to wait for a train.

Shows how often i use the train so. As i said though, 5 mins in the car or even a nice walk along the beach ending up at the bloody stream.

From Sutton Dart station (I know the track is closed but have they told Dublin bus) you can get the 102 bus to the airport calling at Malahide (not much craft), Seabury (home of a well know pico-brewery and milli-cidery) and then on to Swords - home of the '44 and the Old Boro (NCB home turf) ( both owned by the Smiths group who also own Farringtons)

The Bor has the new smoker that we enjoyed at the last BJCP meet!!

You really should try to get into Farrington's in Temple Bar. I think they still have Ormeau Dark on tap.

Failing that, we have it on cask at W J Kavanaghs from tomorrow

Ah, man; that's pretty generous but I'll have nothing to swap with you.

Although, we're for the zoo on Sunday so with a bit of luck I might get something nice from the elephant enclosure.
