Found a nice sized project box for an stc1000 for anyone looking at them. Fits the controller and two sockets nicely.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271241152270

In case they remove the listing here are the details of it:

Enclosure Material: ABS
External Height - Metric: 100mm
External Width - Metric: 240mm
External Depth - Metric: 120mm
IP Rating: IP65

Very retro looking too!  A few of B&Qs cheapest sockets and boxes, some cable, 2 cable glands (a PG7 for the probe and an M20 for the plug), a plug salvaged from an argos kettle and a bit of a connector strip and Bob's yer uncle!
In primary:
In secondary: Wine, Melomel
In keg: Teddy Hopper, Coconut stout, 4 Cs, Buzz bomb, Never Sierra, Bock, OD
In the fridge: Helles Lager, Hob Gob

That is very neat. Perfect size really.

Didnt realise the ST was so small, I was expecting something the size of a car radio. Must look into something like that when I get mine, looks well

Waiting since August for mine off ebay, got pissed off tonight and opened a customer complaint thingy on ebay resolution centre >:(

Greg, if you're stuck for one I have 2 idle at the mo. New, unused.

You order one from China?  Could take a while to get here.  I ordered of these and it was pretty quick, not the cheapest on ebay but it got here in a few days.

Yes ordered off ebay from china, thing is chinese customs have cracked down apparently on these things only recently. I paid for mine on August 27th.

Apparently it can arrive in 6 days to uk from Hong Kong according to these guys http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=17872 so it would not take much longer getting to Ireland as long as it does not get held up by customs people

They also have some wiring diagrams in the forum which may be useful.

I also thought this guys modding of a trailing socket was pretty good and he added an extra fuse for the heating/cooling equipment which is a good idea as the stc1000 has only a 3amp fuse. A fridge or heater will draw more than 3amps. Fitting a 13amp fuse directly in the stc1000 could result in meltdown of its components if its used continuously over a period of time. This is another step by step guide for fitting the stc1000 in an enclosure along with a few extra simple mods on this forum http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=479021

I don't think there's any problem with customs for them. It might be a bad ebay shop though as they will stall you until it is too late to dispute it on either ebay or paypal.
I ordered mine from this ebay seller : http://myworld.ebay.ie/elin.ou/&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754 and it arrived within the week.

it's a pity that our plug sockets are so big, other countries can make much tidier enclosures because of their small 2pin plugs...

Thats the one i ordered and over two months later i still don't have it. It went to dispute which i escelated to ebay and now they have decided i need to wait a further 3 weeks. Kicker is i can't get in direct contact with ebay to get my money back as they have no easily recognisable numbers online that work :'(

According to this forum on boards.ie from a few years ago ebay don't exactly excel when it comes to customer support http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=58807265

It did include a telephone number though - 1890 944 222 not sure if its still in use

I may try that number later cheers. Think it was very cheeky of ebay to decide to out my case on hold given the knew that i had already waited over 8 weeks. Semms like passing the buck is the way they play ? Way it i s now i am unable to contact anybody at all to progress the case. Paypal will not deal with it because it is already open case on ebay, ebay can not be contacted, the seller well that's a bloody nightmare as well. I believe ebay do not even respond or read any emails which are basically dead end addresses ?
