New Corny Keg Sulphur Smell?

I just bought a new 10L corny keg. The type with stainless steel handles ie no black plastic base/top. I planned on kegging my beer tonight but when opened it up it smelled strongly of sulphur. I thought it might be the residue from manufacture but I have washed, rinsed, star sanned, fairy liquid, more star San, co2 and emptied it but it still smells? Anyone any ideas what this might be and if it's normal how should I get rid if smell?if it's not normal should I return the keg rather than risk poisoning myself?

Also I noticed the keg looks to have a grey finish on inside rather than stainless steel? Is that normal for cornies?

Where did you get it?
Did you ask the vendor?
What was it used for previously?

Irish home brew equipment supplier. It should be brand new as far as I know. Will check with them on Tue...
I put beer in secondary in the mean time.

It's slowing starting to go now. I'll air it over night. I wonder if the star San might have reacted with what ever residue was in it?
