Each time I have an all grain question (as I have just moved from extract) I am never to sure where to post and in the end just look at other sites for the answer. Is it here but I am missing it??

Thanks

Jacob

I would like to suggest we re-order the Forums slightly

All-Grain
Extract
Kit

The above 3 are to discuss methods techniques and recipes in gerneral

Cider, Perry
Mead
Wines

As above these 3 are for these 3 styles. Advice, Recipes what ever.

Equipment
Ingredients

These two are for detailed information about the equipment and the ingredients in much more detail as the  style threads

Best Recipes

As its name suggest the elite, best, 'show stoppers' go in here.

Other recipes would be posted under the 3 style recipes

We still have General Brewing Chat for the lighter discussions

I think the above structure would make searching for all of us much easier.

Lets wait till afyer the comp ( 96 hours and counting ) and discuss this.

Actually Will D i agree completely with that structure. It would certainly make it easier for me and people like me that are prone to running before they can walk LOL A specific kit and kilo section would be great as many of us are stuck doing this for various reasons.

Nay from me!

Brewing chat is exactly that - a simple thread to explore most areas of brewing. If a thread gets too specific it can be moved to a more style appropriate area.

I always just treated 'brewing chat' as the AG section. But making a separate 'All Grain Brewing' section is a good idea.
I think there's a need for both specific 'All Grain brewing' and 'General Brewing Chat'.

Maybe the 'Best Recipes' should be renamed 'Favorite Recipes' to encourage more people to post and discuss their favorites
and Admin can tag and sticky the 'cream of the crop' on top by popular demand.

I agree with separate Wine and Cider/Perry sections, but would a Mead section have enough footfall or would it just become a wasteland? Isn't it technically a wine anyway?

An 'Ingredients' section of some sort would be a good idea for the likes of speciality grains, fermentables, hops, spices, bizzare additions, etc. Although if 'Brewing Chat' and 'AG chat' were separate, ingredients could be incorporated into 'General Brewing Chat'.

Regarding a 'specific kit and kilo section', in my opinion the 'Kit Brewing' section is sufficient and there's no point in breaking it up more. There are already many kit and kilo recipes on there.

Finally, the 'Yeast Bank' section should be moved to the 'Multibrew Swap Shop'.
