Something like this: http://shop.solarproject.co.uk/sp312-variable-power-supply-adaptor-p-22.html

I'm selling one along with a solar pump at the moment, if it doesn't go in a week I'll probably consider selling it seperately: http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php/topic,4967.msg62021.html#msg62021

Use an old PC power supply. 5 V, 12 V and gazillions of amps. You can usually pick them up for free.

Just a "Heads" Up on PC power supplies.

Do not run them without a load. They can damage themselves if powered up in isolation. I use one for a bench power supply and to ensure everything works as expected, I've wired a high wattage 10 ohm resistor across 5V and Ground.

Here's a link to a conversion job - http://www.wikihow.com/Convert-a-Computer-ATX-Power-Supply-to-a-Lab-Power-Supply
