Insulation will help to shorten the time to reach boil and also protect the little mountain range. (the Andies ;))

Is 3kw enough to bring ~45-50l to boil?
Ok did some tests today.
To bring 30L of water from 10°C to 74°C with the 2.5kw it took 65 min.
Transfer to BK (2hours later) Temp of water in BK was 44°C.
From 44°C to rolling boil took 68 min with the 3kw.
The shed was a constant 11°C inside.

That is definitely a long time, would you consider a second element, my little argos elements are 2.2Kw and combined they take just over half that :(

That's exactly what I was thinking about. 2x2.2 for 15e...

Cladding it wont make much difference. You need a second element to get up to temp quicker. Then you can run with one element once yer there. I did a keggle conversion for a mate & we had to put a second element in after as one took way too long. That keggle was jacketed too. Same for my keggle HLT. Started with a single element & had to put a second one in as the time took to heat my second lot of sparge water made my mash time run over by 20 mins.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Got the last of my switches yesterday and made a "mock up" control box to see how it will look.
Will probably get my control panel mid Feb.
I redid my brew stand as one unit(still need to be covered)
Looking at my last boil and all the suggestions I went and install another element(4.5kw) that will be running independently from the rest.(and yes the wires and CB can support 8kw)
Will post pics when it's all finished.

So I received my panel and finished my control board.
Next will be the brew stand, mounting of the panel(still thinking of a fixed or swing arm)
and cladding of the kettles.

Going to knock in an earth spike next to the shed and then earth the shed and everything else to it.
