His system is genius, it's a pity his manners werent :(

He charges about €1700 for delivery to Ireland too. Plus those plastic fermenters are way over priced considering you can get a conical from Tanks UK for less.

Good idea, bad execution then?

Has anybody had any good/bad experiences with other micro setups/manufacturers?

Ciderhead

Something you want to share Tom? ;)

can get a 20 tonne 20 foot container from china for that ???

Tom

@BrenMurph how the hell do you know that?!

brenmurph

coz thats the cost of a container from china, all shipping of bulky / large items go by container or part container.

Andd the shipping of a pallet anywhere in Ireland should be somewhere around < 100 euros. Shipping single pallet from uk maybe 150 sterling door to door ( depending on location)
so cant see how he coult be requesting 1700 for shipping, thats ridiculous.

U can hire a van and driver for  a few hundred euros to go get it

Solar pumps are a total joke there. But Im guessing its a bare bones get you going type thing so you could swap them out yourself. The HLT is too small. You'd have just enough water for brewing but none left for cleaning. Yer HLT needs to be twice the size as everything else to give you enough water for cleaning & hot water for brewing next day. The boil kettle being beside the other vessels would make cleaning up after boil overs a nightmare.

Other than that its a solid setup & looks identical to the PBC breweries a few have here. I know some dont like them here but they're solid & get the job done. You get what you pay for at the end of the day.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

PBC type systems are to me bad value because you spend alot of money on installation so what you install needs to serve you along time. Putting in the effort to get better designed gear means that repetitive work like cleaning out Mash Tun and Kettles is less hassle. When you leave the fun side of hobby and move to the other side 100 6am starts in cold February mornings finishing at 10 pm soon wears off the romantic idea ;). Oh at fook reading the kama sutra when you get home :P

I'll stick with simple  burco, mashbag BIAB, and enjoy beautiful beer the other end :) ;) and 10 minutes clean up after an efficient  4 hour brew day

The delivery price was for him getting the ferry and installing it, no mention of training or demonstrations. There's not much installing to do anyway.
