Not really sure where to post this but I thought it was genius.

I'm definitely gonna try this on my keggle build. Looking at the comments they seem to think that rust isn't an issue either  ;D

The secret lies in the stencils he used.

Where can we get them?

This is on homebrewtalk and there was one guy who did etch a hop cone on the front if his kettle.

Anyone know someone who has a vinyl stencil cutter?

We could then get stencils made of the "rabbit with the big balls" for our stainless stuff

You can also etch glass with this stuff but be careful, it also etches fingerprints

Ah Yes!

My old favourite Hydroflouric Acid ( HF)! The evil sister to HydroChloric acid, it is about the nastiest damn acid there is.

In my old chemistry department the HF lab was a bit like outer-space when it came to the safety gear (now called PPE) that you had to wear to work with the stuff.

It does etch glass though :)

Would this etching result in rusting or anything?

dk4545

When I found this originally most comments on that site seemed to think it wasn't a problem. Now more comments have popped up doubting this so don't take my word on it. More research required.

On the plus side my 4 elements turned up so the keggle build begins at last ;D expect plenty of noob questions!

Never one for patience, I thought I'd whip out the old trusty 12V power supply and give this a shot :)

Tried a test piece here

Which turned out fine

So stensiled the pot up

and here's the final result  :P Only time will tell if the numbers start to Rust....I'll report back after 6 months to let you know

Stensils were 1 euro from that craft shop in Blanchardstown....use the negative once you remove the numbers...see above pics
