Afternoon.

Just put on a posh turbo cider. Sainsbury's are selling Armagh Pressed Juice apple stuff for £1 a litre. It's REALLY nice juice, so hopefully it will make a good cider. Also, by being a food product, it's obliged to have typical nutritional data on it, so I happen to know that my TC's OG is 1060 (160g/l). Good ol' EU.
http://www.juicepress.ie/ - the website is a little pretentious at the minute. All feckin' Latin or something "lorem ipsem". Must be the variety of apple used.

It's gone in with some old Young's cider yeast I had in the cupboard. Might try and keep a TC on the go now, seeing as 50p/pint is well reasonable. Bit pricier in Tesko.

I'm sure the fruit isn't exactly local, but it's nice all the same. Not from concentrate etc. I used 2l of pure apple juice, and 2 of a apple, pear and raspberry mix.

I'll keep in touch.

It'll probably need a little tannin

lampie

you need to add some tannin just add a strong cup of strong tea.. And to keep it realy posh use a earl grey tea.

when using other fruits in the tc its advised to leave to ripen for 3 months. This will realy improve the flavor and colour of the cider.

If you can make soup then you will also be able to make a decent beer!

Perfect, cheers. I'll put the kettle on.
