Even if when all the information is put together, and put in the members only area , a cheep version could be made available to members looking to start up. I'm sure anyone looking to start up would pay a few quid for a simple guide.

A step by step guide,
A start with lots of money
B spend money on research of location of premises and purchase of plant equipment.
C spend money installing equipment into new premises.
D spend money fitting out new premises.
E Check bank balance and get lots more money.
F spend money on equipment for bar installation.
G spend money on bottling equipment.
H Check bank balance and and get lots more money.
I brew lots of beer and give it to the pub trade.
J Pay the duty and VAT but wait for the pubs to pay you.
K Check bank balance and get lots and lots more money.

I thought you had to be from Cork.

Only messing.

In fairness though it's not that long ago that some of our (now) more venerable commercials, notwithstanding production quality issues, were on JBK validating their recipes.

Not a specific reference to the same brewery, but I think it's presumptious for homebrewers to assume we can lecture people on how to start a business - a lot of the time the difference between success and failure is more to do with deep pockets and balls of steel than quality (not to mention connections and marketing).

nice litttle earner for the NHC, what about the 2000 hours work and costs involved by the producer & editor to get this book finalised, referenced and peer reviewed and to the market via a publisher who will take 75%. Excellent idea / topic but in practice profitable from a business point of view?

Publish through Lulu. Or leanpub

The UK are now allowing pay as you go bonds so that the small micro breweries from the garage are actually being supported in that respect.

The 50% rebate is quaterly but its still a major impact on cash flow. It would be much better if it was like the UK model.

This is an issue for the small brewers organisation. They should be using the UK rules and asking their local TD's to push it. :)
