Had a look over in the competitions area and noticed the Liffey brewers weren't in the list. Do we want to hold a competition and put forward some entries?

I can understand that alright, what I have brewing is the lowest abv beer I've made by about 2% !

I think I'll bring it down to the lads in Galway if there aren't a few to compete against.

It's more a case of I personally don't want 50l+ of sub 4% beer, and even if I did I'd come to that conclusion myself without a competition as the prompt to start....

I've just brewed a 4.5% ish beer....that's  the ballpark of what I like to do....

Rossa

Fair comment eoin and that's your prerogative. The idea of competition is to increase awareness and educate. Take people out of their comfort zone and learn to brew, in this case, what is quite a demanding task. Nothing more to it than that!

You could water it down Eoin. Increase the volume by 15% with water and you'll be under 4%.

My next brew is my winter bock, but I'm going to brew 20L of last year's recipe up to 1.140, and then dilute it with 20L of RO before putting it into fermenters.
Where are you getting the RO from ::)

I had considered that, but to be honest I'd want to have planned to do that by mashing a big higher, if this is watered down it'll have no body at all as it stands, Also, I've done it already. It would still allow bottling from my king keg, so I'll see.
