Recenty changed to Ubuntu on the desktop and laptop, takes a bit of figuring out after being so use to windows but already seeing vast improvements. Anyway i was wondering what is the best brew software to run on Linux ? I am subbed to Beersmith and i am going to try that today but are there any others that run smooth on Linux OS ? ;D

Beersmith is best option in my opinion.

You can try Brewtarget or less popular Qbrew, both free.

The fact was i had Beersmith installed on ubuntu but when i tried to recover my key it would not recognise my email, i was looking for alternatives until i could get it sorted. In any case i wrote to Beersmith.com and explained the situation and they emailed me on my Windows BS2 key which also worked for Ubuntu.  ;D

Using Beersmith 1.4 (Wine) and 2 on Ubuntu - both working well and like Jacob said in software centre is Brewtarget. Beer Tools 2 is also avaiable for Linux ;)

Brewmate might be worth a try although according to their faq they have not tried it with linux/ubuntu http://www.brewmate.net/faq

Its a pretty basic software program but does the trick for me, I'm using it on a windows 7 ultimate desktop os

I got my key from Beersmith and it seems to be working fine so far on Ubuntu, fingers crossed it will stay that way.  ;D

Used it on Ubuntu without issue for over a year now.

The issue was when i installed Ubuntu the key retrieval would not recognize my email, i had to email Beersmith directly and ask for it which they obliged and hey presto it worked. :o ;D
