Hi All,
I've been brewing all day and just started the boil and I've realised I've no whirlfloc tablets :(.

Does anyone have any ideas for a substitute?
Or would anyone around Dun Laoghaire this evening who might have a spare one or some Irish moss? Otherwise I'm going to have very cloudy lager. Boooooo

Thanks,
C

Just head to pier and grab some seaweed.

I have some spare Irish moss in Tyrrelstown, if you're interested.

As they say - shit happens.
Lager will not be cloudy but it will take longer to clear.
Keep us updated what is your clarity like on later stages.
Bad day brewing is better than good day working.

pm me living in Blackrock and can give you a whirlfloc tablet.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
I was just starting brewing when I put up that post. So I'm afraid I did without.
Might try a beer fining to see if that helps with the clarity in a couple of weeks.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good one for post boil?
Thanks,

The Lagers tasting good but its really cloudy unfortunately.
I'm going to rack it into a secondary and then add a packet of beer finings from the HBC.

Does anyone know if you can used more that one fining agent on a beer? I've some gelatine in the house as well and was going to try the other method as well to see if I can bring up the clarity.
Cheers,
C
