I am getting a bit peeved with An Post and how they handle deliveries from China!

Example:

Ordered two 3.6K dimmers from China on the same day from the same supplier!

#1: Arrived via parcel motel via Belfats in < 3 weeks
#2: No sign after 6 weeks so contacted supplier: 18 days later replacement arrived via PM/Belfast!

#3: As Origianally ordered arrived via AnP 8 weeks later (ps:Post mark showed it was disptached when they said it was)

Next order:

Took 6 weeks to deliver a hi-pressure pump from China (Thanks Brenmurph - its the Dogs B's for < €10)

Next Order:

Still waiting for an Arduino shield (4 weeks)

Anyone else who is using (Read: HOOKED on) Chi-bay and An-Post; What are your delivery times?

Re: The pump: The supplier emailed me after 4 weeks to say "Hey friend - you not give us feed back on pumpy thing"

Its a bit rich that the supplier is worried that you not get your goods in time!

So whats the approx delivery time from China to Dubland for a typical small packet?

I have waited as much as two months for small packets from China, they get here ok but An Post seems to hold onto them for a long time. :'(

I remember garry saying something about some of those chinese sellers waiting until they have a batch of orders to process together.
might explain the long wait

I can get a 3 in one with chicken balls delivered in under half an hour  8)

I don't think it has anything to do with An Post. These items are shipped so it depends on when the ship leaves. You can get lucky or you might be waiting a few weeks.

Check the seller's ebay description. Most of the Chinese sellers will give you a full refund if the item hasn't arrived within 30 days (some are 40 days). You will probably still receive the item  ;)

I love getting stuff from ebay.china. You forget all about ordering it and then a month later the little bubble wrap envelope arrives and it's  like opening a lucky bag. Ah yes, I remember ordering this now, pity I can't remember what I ordered it for  ::)

In my experience it's 3 to 6 weeks to Cork.

Shipped ? Really ? Jaysus Garry i didn't think anything went by ship anymore post wise, even still if i can get an order from Haifa in the Holy Land in under two weeks i should have flied lice from China in a month or under ? Although the Israeli stuff is airmail i do know that. ::)

chinese stuff generaally comes from one of the chinese ports, therefore the first variable. When the ship is full it goes.
Theres chinese customs checkpoint, then theres an post customs checkpoint.

I had a query before last christmas and it was a backlog due to heavy loads.

Chinese new year there will be an extra months delay as china closes down for a month.

My experience:

I have bought hundreds of bits from china. occasionally one does not work or breaks down after a short life but its a small percentage maybe 1 in 50....Im sure 1 in 50 goes back to harvey norman as well in fact I think 1 in 5 tablets and laptop goes back to them!

Deliver times vary greatly. When buying from ali xpress ( recomended) they always go by tracked post so u have a working tracking number. Everything else slow mail and no tracking but rarely one may not arrive ( and may be an posts fauly not necessarily the chinese.

Time frame from 10 days to about 50 days with no aparant reasoning for  timeline

Re the fantastic pump...mine is a godsend. powerful, clearly high quality and very powerful for a 12volt pump look inside mine is whiote silicone suggesting it may even be proper food grade like stated :)

I think this sort of points to an AnPost problem:

Ordered two 3.6K dimmers from China on the same day from the same supplier!

#1: Deliver to Parcel Motel: Arrived via parcel motel via Belfast in < 3 weeks
#2: Deliver to Malahide: No sign after 6 weeks so contacted supplier: 18 days later replacement arrived via PM/Belfast!

#3: As Origianally ordered with delivery to Malahide: Arrived via AnP > 8 weeks after original order was placed (ps:Post mark showed it was disptached when they said it was)

Cheers Mathew but I am more than happy with Parcel Motel.

It keeps it under the "Lady Radar"  ::)
