Stupid question time, but having a healthy respect for things that can kill me, would someone familiar with the air inlet of a mini dragon ring burner let me know if this looks right?  I am about to brew with it for the first time tomorrow so want to fire it up tonight and test it out.  Should the opening be this big?  My fear is gas escaping here and all sorts of nastiness resulting to my eyebrows.  All advice appreciated.

Do you mean this bit?

Cos I asked the same question on first use. I opened mine up quite a bit more than that. You need the oxygen to get flame to turn blue. Careful though when I pulled it all the way open the flame started coming back down the pipe. So mines just slightly less than fully open. You'll need a bit of adjusting to hit the right level of oxygen for your own system.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, thanks for the reply!

Had a minor blow back when relighting it after the hot break/first hop addition but lived to tell the tale.  I'd say I could open it out a fair bit more but the flame is blue (if not massive).  Got to a nice rolling boil eventually but was only doing a 15 litre boil this time mind.   Got a Goose Island IPA clone bubbling away for the past 3 days in the fermenter and smelling great.  Will be transferring to secondary tomorrow and dry hopping early next week.
