I asked in the Bull and Castle and the guy refused saying they were for regulars only with a bit of an attitude. Haven't been back since.

Well done shiny....we havnt been near a certain other very popular craft pub over the same sort of bad attitude from 15 year old manager with  a very unpleasant attitude to his customers.....Customer service with an attitude...what happened the 'smile'....

CARA

I think I can guess who youre on about there, is he quite big?

It's interesting to hear those stories. Sorry to hijack the thread but twice in different brew pubs this year alone I've witnessed a bar man very rudely dismiss someone ordering a macro beer. I work in the service industry and to me a customer is a customer and ordering the "wrong" beer hardly deserves the criticism they received.

Just don't serve macros if you don't think people should buy them.

The first time was when I finally persuaded my gf to come to a brew pub with me. She asked for a miller (the horror!) and was told we sorry don't serve that piss! There is a much nicer way to say sorry craft beer only. Needless to say I didn't get to stay for a second pint. Thanks mr bar man!

This is the reason I love to see Heineken tap at the bar. I know my buddy's will stay longer than 1 round.

Cheers Cara, I had to go sup Guinness and listen to her bitch about it all night!!! : )

You'd think the staff would be trained to say "sorry we don't have *insert macro* but you should try *insert craft alternative*". When my local craft bar opened almost everyone bar us beer fanatics drank the Fischers Helles they had on top because its what the barman told them to drink. Eventually they branched out. People need gateway drinks.
