Anyone any experience of this sort of equipment?

Ss Brewtech Brew Bucket

Probably cynical but would there be any advantage of using one of these, instead of a plastic bucket, that would justify the price increase?

They look pretty. If you compare the price of their conicals to the price of the brew bucket the conicals look like a much better price/product. Maltmiller will be doing a preorder for those in the coming months.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Benefits over fermenting bucket:

1. Perform pressurized transfers
2. Leave yeast behind in the cone for clearer, easier transfers
3. No siphoning, just open the valve
4. No scratches = no hidden infection (easy-to-clean)

Personally, they're not worth it until they get a bottom dump valve.  The primary reason for having a conical is to be able to dump yeast / trub.
Rumor is they're going to release a version with a dump valve before too long.
