Dude, you dont need to bring beer to man the stand ! there is plenty offered already.

Just could do with a couple of people for the friday night thats all.
I know that, I just want to get an impartial opinion on an American Wheat

Partridge9

Hammer away, there is no problems with that.

Did you need anything else for demonstrating e.g. old hops or grain?

What is the story with entry for those manning the stand? Do we have to pay in or will there be a list at the door. I had a lot of grief last year trying to explain to somebody that I was doing the stand but they had no clue what I was on about.

Volunteers on the Homebrew stand will get in free on the day they are volunteering.
I will pass on my mobile to those people to ensure there is no issues at the door

I'll print the list from this thread off and leave it at the front desk/give it to Andrew as well.

If you've any trouble ask for Andrew or one of the regular volunteers like the Beer Nut, Saruman, Partridge or myself.

Lads,

Just onto GerErBrewed this morning and they have confirmed that kit sponsorship. Also the membership cards are in the post, if for some reason you dont get your card - I will have a membership list at the door as well. Remeber your membership needs to be valid - some peoples membership are expiring

If you have any old hops - please bring them, we only need about 5 kg of base malt for the brewing demo on Saturday.
So if anyone has some of that knocking around it would be appreciated.

Feel free to update the Google Docs Spreadsheet (also in my signature)

Any thoughts on raffling off the kits to a few beginners?

Just to keep you in the loop - Beoir have me rostered for Friday evening & Sunday (If there's any leeway I can pop over to cover NHC stand at times, looks like they have a few hand on deck for Friday evening) but I'm all NHC for the Thursday evening If i'm still needed. (Could someone update the spreadsheet, Work have google docs blocked on the interweb. If not I'll update later on this evening)

Re: Hops - I have a loada old hops there, does it matter what nick they're in? IE - are they just for Show n tell purposes or do you actually plan on consuming this brew at any point? Have a few old bags lying around that have been in & out of the freezer too many times, probably only good for lambic if anything! On the other hand, I have some decent hops there if you want some for "crowd smelling" demo purposes, I can bring some of them along too.

Partridge9

@Hingo - yea- its just for show - so old hops are welcome - thanks for the help - looks like we have plennty for saturday, thursday and friday we need a little help alright.

@Irishgoat - We might run two raffles on Saturday and one on Friday / sunday - so 4 in total

Basically people enter the competition by writing their name oin the back of a raffle ticket. This is put in a jar. One of the comditions of entering the raffle is that you are present for the draw. The Draw will take place on Friday 9pm / Sat 5pm / Sat 9pm / Sun 4pm.

Basically we plan to wind down the stand (tidy up), once the raffle is complete.

With regards to sign up - I have bought a couple of cash books and a load of small cash envelopes.

The plan is to take money from a punter - get their Name / Email / Post Address, put it on the duplicate and put it into the envelope with the cash. We should have a cross check of recipets to envelopes at the end.

This envelopes get put into the Till and cleared out every evening - we then cross check everything and give the cash to the treasurer on Sunday.

I wouldnt trust the place for leaving monies knocking around.

Thats what Im thinking anyhow - but we can change that on the day as well - sure we can knock our heads together when we are there and change things as we see fit.
