Me and maja have just booked a day trip to london. The plan is ryanair dublin to Stansted 6.30am and then back the same night 22:00. Stansted express to Liverpool street and then back from Tottenham hale. All in all this cost 120e or 60e each for both flights and trains.

The plan is arrive in Liverpool Street and make our way to the Bermondsey beer mile taking in kernal,  partizan and finishing in fourpure. Perhaps go to brewdog in camden then. Eventually making our way to the tasting rooms at beavertown which opens until 8pm. Getting the train back from nearby to the airport.

If anyone fancies joining us as part of a CB international trip then come along!

If you are hitting the beer mile it is worth hitting up brew by numbers and Ubrew. The bottle shop have an extensive selection also.

Ive done the mile before and went to BBN. Didnt like any of their beer there or over hear.

I thought their porter was spot on (the 03|03 I think) I would be up for heading over, need to double check stuff first

What beers had they when you went over?

At the tap room they are very popular, and often get cleaned out early. Their production standards are very high, and they are rated very highly locally.

Curious as to which beers you had, that you had issue with?

Boycott

I had loads of them. I can't remember specifics now. I had a few bottles of their various saisons over here and didnt like any of them. Barely able to drink them.

One mans poison is another's pleasure - I think it was the saisons that made them really popular in the first place!

Hopefully they will open a pub or  something. Still one of my favourite brewers, and used to go there a lot when they first started,  but not so much the last couple of years, as spend too much time queuing up.

and finishing in fourpure.

FourPure weren't really worth the detour, for me - very MOR beers.

Have you done the whole Borough Market thing on other trips?
If it were me, I'd finish in the other direction: that gives you Anspach & Hobday/Bullfinch, The Bottle Shop, and Southwark Brewing then on to Borough and UTObeer, The Rake, and Market Porter.
Just a thought...

A&H is fine, but southwark I will pass on until someone tells me they are getting their shit together. Really basic recipe errors in their beer.

And four pure is worth it for their pils alone.

Boycott

I enjoyed fourpure. Their set up for visiting is great too. I wont be going to the other side of things, didnt like a&h that much. Wont be able to drink that much anyway so beavertown and brewdog will do nicely

Too much good beer, only so many hours to do it.
