Today I got x1  kilderg honey squeeze (454g) + x1  kilderg Pure honey (454g €2). They are both very similar, same color and taste. Both made from EU and non-EU honey when 'Pure honey code' is B.260 (Brazilian honey).

Another quick thing - I am not saying that Kilderg honey is bad... but you can try to mix your must with Polish/Russian/Lithuanian honey  should by 'A' symbol on the lid - EU origins):



My two favorites:
1. Bartnik "Gryczany"  (Buckwheat honey) - very dark specific honey; spicy aftertaste  price: ~€3.85. I am never boiling Buckwheat must for keeping vitamins, antibacterial properties, proteins and that specific aftertaste.

2. Bartnik "Akacjowy" (Acacia honey)   not cheap (~€5.1)

Hi lads

I don't know much about  making  mead but i do keep bees. Im based i  limerick but i know that most beekeepers will be harvesting the majority of their crop at this time of year
You will definitely find beekeepers in your area if you look up FIBKA.. irish beekeepers.

Yep and so do a few others on here but there is no way we are going to waste our honey on Mead even though FIBKA have a recipe on their site, my girls would be having nightmares if they thought thats what I did with it, there is also a bit of economics, on the East Coast we can get between 5 and 6 a jar! no ucking pms btw either
If you are Dublin based and want real honey none of that BV stuff, the Dublin Honey show held annually in Christ Church Hall, Rathgar. The 2015 Honey Show will be on Saturday 7th  November from 10:30am to 4pm be there at 10.33 to fight the grannies

I believe that it will be a lot scarcer this year (pure Irish honey that is not grannies ) due to the craps Irish summer particularly in July.
