Well folks,

After the success of my tow batches of the Coopers Lightning Strike Summer Ale I thought I would like to try a light ale and came across this recipe - http://www.coopers.com.au/diy-beer/beer-recipes/non-alcoholic-light/detail/nelsons-light/

Have it in the fermenter for the last ten days or so and dry hopped it yesterday so plan on bottling at the weekend.  Was very impressed with the flavour of the bit I drew off for gravity testing.

Will report back when it is ready.

Cheers

Nice one ,let us know how it turns out .
May just have a go at this myself in the next week or two . seems handy enough even for me .

Those Coopers kit hack recipes are the job :)

This is the fist one I have done without a tin of goo.  Just the DME, hops and some crushed grain.  So it's probably in the wrong section!  I'll report back when it's bottled and when the first samples are taken.

The Coopers site does have a lot of kit hack recipes and they are all nice and straightforward.

bottled this on Sunday evening so will give a report in a week or two.  Definitely promising coming out of the bottling bucket, lovely smell and a nice taste too.

Have had a few of these at this stage, lovely flavour. The Nelson Hops are very distinctive.  Very nice beer.

Thats what we're all here for  :)

Well done on your first go without a kit, you'll be building a mash tun before you know it

A quick update now that these have been in the fridge for a few weeks, in a word - delicious.  Light, easy to drink and cheap to make.  I'll be sticking on another batch for Christmas as soon as I have an empty bucket!

much to the dismay of the boss.  It disappears very quickly though!
